The Zwitch iOS app is built using Swift 5, with a minimum development version of 15.0. Employing the MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) design pattern, our development team has created a robust architecture that enhances code modularity, maintainability, and testability. The MVVM pattern enables distinct layers within the app, reducing code complexity on the Views and ensuring clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
For dependency management, we leverage the Swift Package Manager (SPM), a versatile solution that offers faster resolution times. While SPM is the primary dependency manager, we continue to utilize CocoaPods for a specific third-party library that is not yet available on SPM.
To deliver seamless notifications, Zwitch utilizes the Apple Push Notification service, integrated with the Firebase Cloud Messaging client library. Additionally, the app's chat functionality is powered by Socket.IO, enabling real-time communication between users.
Android App:
The Zwitch Android app is built using Kotlin, the official language for Android application development since Google I/O 2017. Leveraging the Jetpack Compose toolkit, a modern UI framework developed by Google, our developers have created an efficient and visually stunning user interface. Jetpack Compose expedites testing processes and promotes code consistency through a unified codebase, minimizing the chances of errors. Zwitch Android app is compatible with devices running Android 7.0 (Nougat) and above, encompassing over 95.1% of Android devices worldwide.
